Dupion

Klara Silks Dupion
Dupion is also known as "raw silk"is recognised by it's uneven and irregular yarn, known "slubbed" appearence. Chinese Dupion is available at Klara Silks in a large colour range and is very popular for Brides, Bridesmaids, Debs, Communion dresses, Evening wear and Interiors. At Klara Silks we have our fabric dyed to our chosen colours and often 2 different coloured threads are used in the same piece giving a beautiful 'shot' effect.

Satins

Currenty one of the most popular fabrics used in fashion design. Silk Satin usually has a lustrous surface and a plain, dull back. A favourite with all our clients because of its exquisite qualities and feel. It is available in a variety of colours and weights. A selection of Polyester satins are also available.

Silk Chiffon

A sheer, lightweight and transparent fabric. Durable despite its delicate appearance.  Luxurious. Our chiffon is heavyweight with an excellent quality which is why our designers enjoy working with it. Available plain and beaded. A variety of colours to match our crepe range.

Brocades

This fabric has a design effect as part of the fabric – a "Jacquard" weave. It is beautiful, rich, heavyweight and elegant with elaborate designs. May have plain or coloured strands usually against a satin – weave background. The pattern may be satin or twill ground, often reversible.

Available in White Ivory and Gold in a variety of patterns.

We have a wide variety of laces available, Corded, Guipure, Fine laces and Beaded laces, to compliment our silk ranges.







Thai Silk
Klara Silks Thai Silk
Thai Silk has a plain weave with closely woven threads. It is a crisp, smooth fabric and has a delicate sheen. This versatile fabric has a variety of uses in Evening Wear, Bridal Gowns, Jackets, Trousers, Skirts, and Interiors.

Available in: White, Ivory, Warm Ivory,Pale Gold and Gold.

Silk Crepes

Silk crepe flows like satin but, unlike satin it has a matt sheen finish. The beauty of this fabric is it comes in a variety of weights, is soft and drape and move beautifully.  Used by designers for wedding gowns and evening wear, dresses and suits – pure elegance.

Organza

A transparent, lightweight, sheer, crisp fabric. It has an elegant sheen. Organza can be used in bridal and evening wear, as overcoats jackets or over gowns, dresses and skirts.
